Serve on the Youth Council

You can apply to be a Youth Councillor. We call for applications at the end of the year, usually during October. Most Youth Councillors serve a one-year term.

  • You need to be between 14 and 25 years old.
  • You need to have a good range of youth connections in the district.
  • You need to live in Nelson or attend a Nelson institution
  • You need skills and qualities which would benefit the Youth Council, like the ability to work in a team, enthusiasm for reading and analysing documents and the confidence to discuss issues.
