Is your memory prompted by the scent of a rose? Be ready for a remarkable sensory experience at the annual Rose Day on Sunday 27 November at Broadgreen Historic House, Nayland Road, Stoke.
At Broadgreen you will find Samuels Rose Garden, named after the late Mr S J Samuels, a dedicated rose nurseryman, it is the biggest rose garden in Nelson, with approximately 3,000 plants. The impressive collection includes around 560 named varieties.
The annual Rose Day is a community celebration when the roses are coming into bloom. Local event coordinator Huup Waagen and the Broadgreen Society have ensured there are stalls, entertainment, food, music, children’s entertainment and even fairies in the garden. Entry is free and the day runs from 11am to 3pm.

Each year one or two special themed exhibitions are held at Broadgreen Historic House to show off special treasures in the collection.
This exhibition is a display of quilts and embroideries.
