A great number of early childhood education centres (ECE’s) are already engaged in the journey towards sustainability, teaching children and their whanau to treasure our environment.
Nelson City Council has put together an educational resource called Small Planet to support ECE’s on this journey. The programme is designed to provide a wide range of information on projects and resources, as well as providing a framework to recognise existing projects and plan future activities, all within the context of the early childhood curriculum (te whariki).
