Temporary road closures

Temporary road closures are those that will be closed for less than two months for special events,  temporary road or infrastructure work.

HALIFAX STREET to GROVE STREET

Time of closure: from 7:30 am Tuesday 22 May 2012 until 5.00 pm 31 July 2012.

This closure is for the reconstruction of Tasman Street.

Vehicular access to properties will be maintained.

Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1974, notice is hereby given that Ching Contracting proposes to temporarily close the following road to ordinary vehicle traffic.  It will be an offence under this Act for any persons without an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicle traffic during the period of closure.  The road to be closed:

CHINGS ROAD from THE RIDGEWAY to WAIMEA ROAD

Time of closure: from 7:00 am Friday 1 June 2012 until 5.30 pm 29 June 2012

Residential vehicle access shall be maintained.  This closure is for a watermain installation.

Any person objecting to this proposal is called upon to lodge notice of his objection and grounds thereof in writing before Friday 11 May 2012, attention Mark Hollows of Nelson City Council, P O Box 645, Nelson.

Queens Road, from Russell Street to the north intersection with Victoria Heights
Wells Road, from Russell Street to Queens Road

Time of closure: Monday 5 March 2012 until 5:00 pm 29 June 2012. This closure is for the reconstruction of Queens Road.

Maitai Valley Road

from Smiths Ford Bridge to the Maitai dam

This section of road will remain closed until 31 May 2012, day and night. This closure is to enable the construction of a duplicate pipeline from the Maitai Dam.

Morrison Street

weekly on Wednesdays

All of Morrison Street  will be closed to ordinary traffic from 12noon until 6.30pm every Wednesday. This closure is to enable the Nelson Farmers Market  to be held at Fashion Island.
