Regional Land Transport Programme

Hearing scheduled 25 May 2012.

Submissions to the draft Programme, which details the transport projects proposed in Nelson City for the next ten years and seeks funding for them, closed on 2 May and 25 were received.

Those wishing to speak in support of their submissions will do so at a hearing on 25 May.  The Regional Land Transport Committee will then recommend any alterations resulting from the submissions and  forward them to Council for consideration.

The programme prioritises the transport projects in Nelson City for the next ten years and seeks funding for them.

The draft programme has been prepared by the Regional Transport Committee and approved for public consultation by Nelson City Council from Monday 2 April.

The projects prioritised in the draft Nelson Regional Land Transport Programme and outlined below allocate where the regional ‘R’ funding pool of $22 million will be spent.  Those projects lower down the priority are unlikely to proceed if this funding is used up on the higher priority projects:
