Council Plan Change 06/04 (Stoke Railway Reserve) became operative on 1 September 2008 following Council’s formal approval at their meeting on 21 August 2008.
Commissioners recommended that Council accept the application by Catal Developments Ltd for a plan change in its current form, and the recommendations were adopted on 27 September; this decision was publicly notified on Saturday 6 October. One appeal was filed with the Environment Court by the 19 November deadline, but this appeal was subsequently withdrawn by the appellant.
Council formally approved change 05/02 to the Nelson Resource Management Plan which comprised 50 individual proposed changes to the Plan. The changes are generally minor amendments to existing rules and policies, intended to clarify existing provisions in the Plan or to make them more workable.
The Nelson North Plan Change protects the character of North Nelson. The plan change had immediate effect on notification (5 March 2005), with any new subdivisions being subject to the new rules.
