Plan Change 15 Heritage

Further submissions invited until 26 March

Proposed Plan Change 15 (Heritage) was advertised for public submissions on 6 February 2010.  Three submissions were received.  A summary of the decisions requested by submitters has been prepared. Click here to view the summary (PDF@150KB) or inspect a copy at Nelson City Council’s Customer Services Centre (110 Trafalgar Street, Nelson) or any of Nelson’s libraries. Full copies of the submissions can also be viewed at these locations.

Further submissions are now invited.  Any person representing a relevant aspect of the public interest, or that has “an interest in the proposed plan greater than the interest that the general public has” may make a further submission.  Further submissions may be made whether or not the person submitted in the first round of submissions, but only in support of, or in opposition to, an original submission. Further submission forms are available at the customer service centre, libraries or click here to download one (PDF@150KB).  Further submissions close 5pm Friday 26 March 2010.

Background

Council proposes a plan change to include seven new listed items and amend three existing listings in ‘Appendix 1 Heritage buildings, places and objects’ of the Nelson Resource Management Plan.

Items to be added are:

  • 205 Haven Rd (Category A)
  • 9 Rentone St (Category B)
  • 95 Halifax St (Category B)
  • 140 Nile St (Category B)
  • 8 Brunner St (Category A)
  • 43A Brook St (Category  A)
  • Smith Family Grave, Maitai Valley Rd (Category A)

Items to be amended are:

  • 64 Brougham St (from Category B to A)
  • 278 Nayland Rd (from Category B to A)
  • 8 Russell St (from Category B to A)
