Performing Arts and Conference Centre consultation

Council decides against proposed site

At its 10 December  meeting, Council voted against building the Performing Arts and Conference Centre(PACC) at the proposed Rutherford Street site. Instead, Council will begin a search for a new site to construct a PACC.

Nearly 600 submissions were received on the proposed $28 million multi-purpose performing arts facility (the Performing Arts and Conference Centre, or PACC). Council held hearings on 1 and 2 December.

The Nelson City Council asked the community for feedback on a $28 million multi-purpose performing arts facility (the Performing Arts and Conference Centre, or PACC). The proposed location was on Rutherford Street/Selwyn Street site, adjacent to the Rutherford Hotel.
