Nelson Air Quality Plan
Council resolved to make the Proposed Nelson Air Quality Plan operative at its meeting on 2 October 2008, and set the operative date at 3 November 2008. This follows the resolution of the last appeal which related to the rules controlling methyl bromide fumigation.
The operative version of the Nelson Air Quality Plan is available from this web page (see below), Nelson City Council’s Planning and Consents Counter, and all Nelson Public Libraries. Alternatively a hard copy can be purchased ($20 incl GST) by contacting the Planning Assistant, Environmental Policy on +64 3 546 0388.
Amendments issued 3 November 2008
Amendments were issued on 3 November 2008 to reflect the Environment Court’s decision on the one remaining appeal from Genera Ltd regarding the fumigation rule.
In addition to the amendments made regarding the Genera appeal, the Council has undertaken a complete reprint of the Plan incorporating revised and enhanced maps. Read more on the 3 November 2008 updates.
Amendments issued April 2008
Amendments were issued on 28 April 2008 to update the Air Quality Plan in relation to all Variations (07/02, 07/03, 07/04, 07/05 and 07/06) that have now completed their statutory process. Only Variations 07/02 and 07/05 drew submissions, appeals for which closed on 4 March; no appeals were received.
The 28 April 2008 updates also included amendments resulting from Solid Energy’s appeal which has been resolved and signed off by the Environment Court. Read more on the Air Quality Plan Variations.
