Match venue - Trafalgar Park, Nelson

Trafalgar Park will be host to two Rugby World Cup 2011 matches.

Trafalgar Park is located in Trafalgar Street in the Nelson Central Business District and is only a five-minute walk from the centre of town.

Throughout the years Trafalgar Park has undergone many upgrades to allow the facility to showcase more and more sport and recreation activities and to seat more people. In recent years the Park has been used for music concerts and other entertainment as well. One of the most attractive aspects of Trafalgar Park is its proximity to the Nelson central business district. Upgrades are being made to Trafalgar Park in 2009 and 2010 that will provide ongoing opportunity for many large venue events - including RWC 2011 - to be held.

Nelson-based match schedule

Nelson and Trafalgar Park will be host to two matches in September 2011 for RWC 2011.

On Tuesday 20 September 2011 Trafalgar Park will host Italy v Europe 2 and on Tuesday 27 September 2011 Trafalgar Park will host Italy v USA.

Travel and hospitality packages

For visitors wanting to book travel and hospitality packages, Rugby Travel and Hospitality (NZ) Ltd (RTH NZ) has been appointed to create, manage, and implement the Official Travel and Hospitality programme for RWC 2011. Visit RTH at www.rth2011.com.

Rugby fans will be able to buy travel packages from 1 January 2010.

Tickets - on sale to the global public starting April 2010

Prices for matches at Trafalgar Park range from $15 for children to $95 for adults. A family of four will be able to pay as little as $90 to enjoy either of two great RWC 2011 matches.

RWC 2011 tickets will go on sale to the global public in three sales phases, with Venue and Team Pool Packs being the first up for grabs in April 2010. A Nelson Venue Pool Pack (which includes both matches being played at Trafalgar Park) will range from NZ$30 for a child and up to NZ$165 for an adult sitting in Cat A. The ticketing structure is comparable to Rugby World Cup 2007 and aims to ensure  as many New Zealanders as possible will have the opportunity to enjoy the Rugby World Cup experience. Individual tickets will go on sale late 2010.

Team hosting

Nelson will host three teams during Rugby World Cup 2011: Italy, USA, and the Europe 2 qualifier, which is anticipated to be known by the end of March 2010.
