Become a member - join the library online (temporary registration)
and then visit one of our three libraries within 2 week, with personal identification and proof that you reside in Nelson, Tasman or Marlborough, or are a ratepayer in Nelson City, Tasman District or Marlborough. 

• Photo ID is preferable for personal identification, e.g. a driver's licence or passport.

• Proof of address should be "official" mail sent to you at your residential address, e.g. a telephone, electricity or rates account.

You will need to speak with one of our friendly staff who will provide you with a library card and information pack.  Joining the library takes about 10 minutes.

17 years old or younger?

If you are under 18, you will need a guarantor to submit your online application and come with you to the library, bringing their personal ID and proof of address.  (See Membership Information).
