Nelson 2060 is an inclusive city, with a diverse range of residents who can connect easily to each other and to the beautiful place we call home. Our inclusive leadership style supports our unique approach to living, which is boldly creative, ecologically exemplary, socially balanced and economically prosperous.
Nelson City Council is underway with a process to create a strategy for how our City will become more sustainable over the next generation and beyond.
We want to create a strategy that will guide not only Council planning but also be adopted and used by businesses and organisations throughout the community so there is a holistic approach to building a bright future for our city.
Everyone is invited to start framing a future for Nelson – a future where we can meet the needs of our community within the limits we face. It’s about well being – social, economic and cultural – and about recognising the connections between these things.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to give their feedback on the draft vision for Nelson in 2060.
The vision will be used to develop the Framing our Future Strategy – the blueprint for guiding our community towards a more sustainable future.
Here are the most recent editions of the Framing our Future newsletter to download.
