Founders Toy Fair is coming

Posted by Nelson City Council on 25 November 2011

The Founders Second Annual Toy Fair will be held on the Sunday 4 December and run alongside the Santa Parade Carnival, kicking off at 2pm. Stoke/Tahunanui Rotary Club elves have been hard at work making and fixing wooden toys for the fundraiser and quality pre-loved toys are arriving daily at Founders Heritage Park and Summit Real Estate Offices, to be sold back to the community at bargain prices just in time for Christmas.

More donations of new or pre-loved toys are still welcome. Please drop them off at Summit Real Estate offices in Nelson, Richmond or Motueka, or at Founders Heritage Park.

The Toy Fair is a joint initiative between Founders Heritage Park and the Stoke/Tahunanui Rotary Club. All funds raised will go towards Nelson community projects, including projects within Founders Heritage Park, a Nelson City Council facility. Mike Fox of Stoke/Tahunanui Rotary Club says “The members in our local club have worked hard on a few surprises for this year’s fair. Last year’s fundraising efforts were spent on youth projects in our region, including funding a Nayland College student to participate in the 'Matched Twin Exchange programme', where the student is matched up with a student of a similar age and the same gender and they swap families and schools for a term."

Full of Christmas spirit, Maria Anderson Facility Manager says, “I hope the Toy Fair and Santa Carnival is a great success next Sunday, it is always fun to work closely with the members of the Stoke/ Tahunanui Rotary Club on this project.”
