Food premises complaints

Nelson City Council does not investigate complaints about the service, taste or presentation of food. Complaints of this nature should be taken up with the management of the food premises.

Environmental Health Officers will investigate concerns/complaints about food premises relating to:

  • The cleanliness in the premises
  • Food hygiene issues
  • The manner in which the food is stored
  • Odours emanating from a food premises
  • No registration certificate displayed
  • Food safety issues
