Engineering Standards

The Engineering Standards form the basis for design and construction of all Nelson's roads, drains and watermains as well as all other services within the road reserve. The Standards cover all upgrade and renewal work carried out by the Council as well as all subdivision and development of infrastructure carried out by the private sector which is to be vested in the Council.

Review of draft standards

The Nelson City Council is currently reviewing the Engineering Standards. Consultation with key stakeholders has now closed. A final draft document will be available for public consultation in January 2010. The updated document will have a new name --  the "Land Development Manual 2009". Find out more about the draft Land Development Manual.
