Ecofest Home Tour Tasman

Sunday 15 August

This Eco-home tour in and around the Moutere Hills area includes rural properties that will provide inspiration on self-sufficient living.  Hosted by local architect Peter Olorenshaw, it focuses mainly on homes made from natural materials such as mudbricks, timber and straw bale.  Plus, you’ll visit a luxury eco-lodge situated on 150 acres of private forest that uses less than half of the energy of an average New Zealand household.

What to wear and bring

  • All of the tours require walking on steep slopes and it is recommended that people wear appropriate footwear.
  • Please dress for changeable weather conditions - it's winter!
  • Bring your own lunch and refreshments for the day, as lunch stops usually offer only light refreshments.
  • In the interests of consideration for our home owners and other tour participants, these tours are not appropriate for children

Tickets

Space is limited and the tours are always very popular. Tickets cost $25 per person and are available from 21 July at Nelson City and Tasman District Council offices.
