Ecofest Eco Challenge

16 July to 20 August 2010

Potluck for the Top of the SOuth Food Challenge

Nelson Tasman residents are encouraged to “go local”. The Eco Challenge 2010 will officially be launched with a huge potluck dinner on Friday, 16 July at The Granary, Founders Heritage Park from 6pm – 8pm. People are encouraged to bring an “All Local” potluck dinner contribution (preferably something that either doesn’t need to be heated, or can be heated in a microwave). Don’t forget to bring your own plates and cutlery.

A month of eating local

For the month prior to Ecofest, residents are being challenged to ONLY eat and drink produce that’s been grown, baked, made or produced within the Top of the South. So if you can grow it, make it, freeze it, swap it or buy it from a local grower or supplier, you’ll be on the right track.

Awesome prizes available for the top two Eco Challengers, one in Nelson and one in Tasman.

For Nelson:

  • $500 in vouchers from Fresh Choice Nelson City
  • $250 in vouchers from Bunnings
  • $50 Christmas present from New Zealand Credit Union (NZCU)

For Tasman:

  • $500 in vouchers from Fresh Choice Richmond
  • $250 in vouchers from Bunnings
  • $50 Christmas present from NZCU

Other smaller rewards will be awarded to highly commended Eco Challengers.
