AboutThe Earth-Sky sculpture by Australian sculptor Ingo Kleinert was installed in 1996 to mark the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology’s 25th year.
The rammed earth base represents the eart and Nelson mountains, and the stainless steel represents the sky and clouds; the combinationof these materials symbolises nature, side by side with technology
Earth-Sky is located on Hardy Street opposite Albion Square in front of the main entrance to NMIT.
