Councillor's comment

One of the nicest sights one can find in their neighbourhood is a collection of kids standing outside the local dairy, leaning on their bikes or scooters and talking rubbish.

It takes one back many years to when we were young, so really history just repeats itself. However the real message is the value of your neighbourhood. The Council for many years has strengthened the value of the local neighbourhood and the importance of engaging community interest.

The Neighbourhood Support programs, the interaction with community groups and consultation on a local level has given a greater sense of ownership for ratepayers and their families.

The 10 year Long Term Plan hopes to continue this theme but it’s now in your hands. We have attempted to add vision to the Plan over and above the essential services such as water, waste water, roads etc enabling the city to maintain its strength and place of well being for the future. This is your chance to ensure the kids can continue to enjoy the corner dairy and all that goes with it. Have your say!
