Subscribing and unsubscribing to Council's email newsletters

Council publishes email subscription newsletters that you may subscribe to.

How to sign up for email newsletter/s

  1. Enter your valid email address in the subscription form at end of this page
  2. Tick which newsletter/s you wish to receive
  3. Click the SUBSCRIBE button
  4. You will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes
  5. Click the confirmation link in the email or follow instructions to send an email confirmation

How to stop receiving email newsletter/s (unsubscribing)

You can automatically remove yourself from a newsletter mailing list by one of these methods:

  • Easiest way is to use the 'Unsubscribe' link that is included in every newsletter OR
  • send an email to the Council newsletter server OR
  • Contact our newsletter team and we will unsubscribe you

This is included near the end of every Council email newsletter.

Send an email to the Council newsletter server to unsubscribe

To unsubscribe to a Council email newsletter, send an email (using the same address for your subscription) as follows:

  1. TO Email address: listserv@listserv.localgovt.co.nz
  2. Subject: leave blank
  3. Message: unsubscribe [newsletter name, without brackets] -- with no other content, signatures or attachments
  4. Send the message
  5. Receive confirmation email

Note that you must send the unsubscribe email from the subscription email address. Also, the newsletter name must be exactly as it appears in your newsletter's email subject, for example NELSON_E-NEWS .

    You can unsubscribe by phone, post or email to our Council newsletter staff.

    03 546 0200 Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm and ask to speak to a Communications Adviser. You may leave a message if you ring after hours. Please include a daytime phone number where we may contact you.

    Please include the email address for the subscription, the name of the newsletter/s, and specify you want to unsubscribe.

    Email the Council newsletter team to unsubscribe. Please include the email address for the subscription (not needed if sending from the subscription address), the name of the newsletter/s, and specify you want to unsubscribe.
