Youth Nelson Programme

A joint venture with Nelson College for Girls for students aged between 14 and 16, designed to assist the student to make the transition from school to paid employment, further training or to return to the classroom. The Ministry of Education (under the NETS scheme) and Community Employment funds the programme. Email the Youth Nelson Programme

Kahurangi Employment Trust

the Kahurangi Employment Trust (KET) is a Nelson City Council Organisation and an approved NCC contractor. KET operats a number of initiatives under it's charter, including:

  • Tidy Town contract to help keep Nelson free of graffiti, tagging and litter
  • Revive Re-Use shop diverting waste from landfill
  • Annual tree planting
  • Workstream Employment initiative
  • The Refinery Arts Space, 3 Halifax Street Nelson

The aim of the trust is to provide support for people who are disadvantaged in the labour market move towards sustainable employment.

KET celebrated their tenth anniversary in 2007 and, during that first decade, have assisted hundreds of people into the workforce.

Employment Support Nelson
