Commissioned by a group of community volunteers and designed by local graphic designer Andy Clover, the Birthplace of NZ Rugby logo is meant for all of Nelson to use to celebrate its unique position in the history of New Zealand rugby.

A logo for Nelson that can last for years, the Birthplace logo can be used freely by anyone in the community. Use of the logo is meant to encourage community involvement and unity in rugby events and support for the Tasman Makos.

Use of the logo

The logo is owned by Nelson City Council. New Zealand law allows Council, as owner, to licence the logo for others to use. Council would like as many people, businesses, and community groups as possible to make use of the logo.

Potential uses of the logo

  • posters
  • flags
  • stickers
  • branded letterheads
