Public Notice pursuant the clause 16 of the Resource Management (National Environmental Standards Relating to Certain Air Pollutants, Dioxins, and Other Toxics) Regulations 2004, of Breach of National Environmental Standard for  PM10.

Nelson City Council herby gives notice that, PM10 concentrations exceeded a mean 24 hour concentration of 50 micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m3) as specified in Schedule 1 of the above Regulations within the area gazetted as Air shed A: Nelson South and Air shed B: Tahunanui-Stoke on the following occasions.

Retraction of Breach Notice

Notice is given that the breach notice previously advertised for Airshed A on 24/06/2011 is withdrawn. The notice given stated a 24 hour mean PM10 concentration of 51 (µg/m3) and a breach of 1 (µg/m3). Subsequent data analysis shows the 24 hour mean mass concentration on 24/06/2011 was 50 (µg/m3) and therefore the National Standard for PM10 was not breached.
