This page hosts material for the Nelson Active Transport Forum, a multi-party forum for those within the region who have an interest in the development and promotion of active transport. Agendas, minutes and presentations from each Active Transport Forum can be found here, as well as the Terms of Reference for the forum.

The Nelson Active Transport Forum was set up to encourage information sharing and cross-sector action in Nelson between agencies with an interest in active transport, including representative s from such sectors as education, environment, health and sisability, recreation, sport, tourism, transport and local and national government.

Overview

The forum meets on a quarterly basis. Topics for discussion or presentation come from the forum members, with Nelson City Council responsible for hosting and facilitating the forum meetings.

Mission: To advance active transport.

Objectives

  1. To enhance intersectoral communication and coordination between active transport stakeholders
  2. To support positive action on regional cycling, walking and public transport issues.
  3. To increase the knowledge base of active transport stakeholders.
