HAIKU
Locked beneath the ice
Ghostly orange rippling
Carp dreaming of spring
MACLEAN
NOT JUST BEADS
It knows how to rain in Golden Bay
not poncy beads that lie on glass
to glisten in the morning
but with a hundred hooves
that pound above my head
filling the night with wild drumming
I smile into the dark
wrapped in a quilt
of remembered childhood
